Cross Country

The Cross Country season runs over the Winter season from April until August.

Weekly competition is held on Saturday morning.  The local program runs for 10 weeks, with athletes having the opportunity to also compete in State and Regional events.

What is Cross Country?

Cross Country is a sport which an individual participates in an event over natural terrain. Cross Country courses vary in distance, terrain and landscape depending on the location.

Cross Country Distances

The distance of the Cross Country course is based on the athlete’s age.  Below is an indication of the usual distance.

Under 6 – 500m

Under 7 & 8 – 1km

Under 9 & 10 – 1.5km

Under 11 & 12 – 2km

Under 13 – 16 – 3km
